Hey everyone!
We’re now firmly into the autumn, a.k.a. the part of the year where I’m never home. Instead I’m running around sneaking in one last visit to friends or family members, deciding whether or not I can go see Ween again before the end of the year, and researching how to make ink out of menstrual blood (more on that next year). In the meantime, I wanted to share a few creative accomplishments that happened for me lately. It’s been a banner year!
First, my poem “How it Felt when I Came Out of the Closet,” was published in Oroboro Vol. 7 ! Published on Halloween, this poem was inspired by experience coming out as queer. My roommate Jen encouraged me to put some of my bitching and moaning to paper, and I’m really proud to have it publishing along work by some other fabulous writers. This is my first publication since like the eighth grade when I wrote a poem about how much I loved Forest Gump, haha, so it’s pretty exciting. Thanks to Sarah + Diana at Death Rattle Literary for giving me this opportunity!
Second, FWOGS IS FINALLY FINISHED! If you’ve been a part of my life over the past five or so months, you know this zine has kicked my butt. You can now buy the 8.5 x 11 version of Fwogs with a rubber stamp cover on my webstore, where you can also download a pdf of my short story A Future, which is my pride and joy. Thank you so much to everyone who pre-ordered their copy of Fwogs! Because of you I was able to get a new toner cartridge for my printer!!
Lastly, here’s some writing that I’m really proud of that’s been around the internet for a little while, in case you missed it:
adlt grrrl suprasses their “Personal Best,” in Mainer News.
On Clamming and Draudiga will take you to new worlds in the Deal.
thanks for being along for the ride! I hope you’re having a good week.
