Hey everybody! Haven’t written anything for the deal in a minute. I was working on a couple of essays, had a few ideas, and then all of a sudden, the wind was in my sails and I was off to the races! The last few weeks have been really exciting for me creatively and I’m gonna take this space to share some really exciting, somewhat self-promotional news. It is my newsletter, after all.
First, I’ve made my first literary zine! What started as an essay for this here blog became A ZINE ABOUT QUICHE AND CAR SEAT HEADREST, which I’ve done a two prints of already! The first batch I brought with me to New York City and peddled them around to friends, and the second is available for purchase now!
If you live in Maine, you can pick up a copy at Strange Maine and Abraxas on Congress Street in Portland. You can also get a copy at Hello Hello Books in Rockland, Maine! I’m really grateful to all of these vendors: I keep calling my dad and saying “YOU CAN BUY SOMETHING I WROTE IN A STORE!” You can also order one online!
Second, the first episode of The Anglerfish is now available online! This is an audio-zine (lots of zines lately) featuring experimental radio stories made by up-and-coming radio artists. I got to work with four amazing audio producers to create the episodes that you’ll hear over the next couple of months. I hope that you’ll tune in and subscribe on the podcast platform where we’re streaming, and on instagram!
Lastly, I went rock climbing yesterday and made it all the way to the top of a run that I’ve never tried before, and it was really hard, and I did not even give up.
